Thanksgiving at the Cottage
Here in Canada, we celebrate Thanksgiving (Jour de l’Action de grâce) on October 10. While the actual Thanksgiving holiday is on a Monday, Canadians might eat their Thanksgiving meal on any day of the three-day weekend, though Sunday and Monday are the most common. While Thanksgiving is usually celebrated with a large family meal, it is also often a time for weekend getaways. Though I did not have anything against a weekend getaway, we decided to stay home (finishing various home improvement projects including setting up our new generator).
Concerning the meal: This time I was lucky, I got to decorate and take the pictures, while my dear hubby did the cooking!
