A Waffle Party {On A Budget}

Hi guys,

Some serious DIY Party Planning has been going on at funkytime! I have a bunch of freebies for you today and some nice pictures & ideas/ inspiration for your next waffle party. Have you ever had a waffle party?

Everything started with giving a waffle iron to my friend for Christmas. We kept saying, we need to meet up to make some waffles. Then, 2 month later, it was my other friends birthday. So Friend 1 and me decided to throw her a surprise waffle birthday party! We had 5 days to figure it out.

This is how it turned out:

This was the invitation:

The Drinks:

I bought bottles of  Smirnoff Twisted Green Apple (6 Pack $10), because I liked the bottles, and the labels where easy to remove, just put them in a hot water bath.

I ordered these adorable vintage straws {$5} here, but they did not arrive in time. So I substituted  them with the regular ones you can buy in any store.

The forks and spoons are from the Dollar Store. I added some baker’s twine for better looks. If you have time to order them, you can use wooden cutlery instead. It looks really beautiful, with little bows attached to them. Romantic PINK  has them in her Etsy Store.

Bunting & Pom Poms:

I designed the bunting, matching the overall colors for the party. I attached the little flags to baker’s twine as well as the Pom Poms.

Pom Pom Tutorial here. Packing paper used for the pom poms is from the Dollar Store.

You can buy regular 5×7 plastic bags and fill them with candy. After that you just staple the labels, printed on cardboard, on the plastic bag, that’s it. All the labels have a different quote on the front!

Mustache on a stick:

What is a party without mustaches on a stick?! They are a funny and a perfect opportunity to take cool pictures!

Paper flowers:

I don’t really have a step by step instruction for the flowers. I just wrapped the paper around wooden sticks and fixed the lower end of the flower with some string.

Stand for the card is from the Dollar Store. I painted it white.

There are- of course- the waffles! And then there are the toppings….

The bottom line:

As I could buy most of the items at the Dollar Store, the expenses were under $50. That does  not include the drinks & food though.

So, you do not have to pay a fortune, to throw a party! Make sure, everybody brings different toppings and a drink!

Hope you enjoyed!

If you throw a party with my labels, email me the pictures or leave a picture in the comments! Can’t wait to see you creations!

I might just have a waffle birthday party for myself. Waffles are not so popular here in the UK. However, they sure will be after my party.

It is a shame that some of the downloads are not editable, I’m not sure my friends will like calling me Bianca!

  11. I teach third grade and we are having a waffle party for our Thanksgiving celebration on Tuesday. We are going to let the children make the waffles, with parents help of course, then also make fruit k’bobs. I am going to use the moustache idea for straws for their milk and take cute photos for them to add to a I am thankful for you because:… (a note to their family)

    Thanks for the great ideas!
