Apron into Bag
i guys, how are ya?!
I came across these $2 artist aprons the other day and my friend Ang had this great idea to turn them into a bag. So, I sat in front of the sewing machine and did my magic! {Update: Anne from Craftgossip.com featured my bag today and Jessica from Me sew crazy as well. Thank you Anne and Jessica!}
This is how it turned out:
You will need:
- 2 Artist Aprons (Dollar Store)
- White fabric (Fabric Store)
- Vintage Rick Rack (Second Hand Store)
- Lace (Dollar Store)
Instructions:
After the bag is finished, we make the strap.
You fold the piece of fabric every 5cm a little to have some kind of ruffle, but on both sides, sew it in place and sew it on to the bag. You take the apron strings and make a bow on each side.
I haven’t shown you the backside yet, have I?
This used to be the front of the apron. I just sew some lace on top of the stiches, to make it look nicer.
You have pockets in the back for your phone, etc…. I had a flower tube left from the flowers I bought the other day and you can add it as a little fun element! In that case you will have to use the back side as the front for a different look!
You have basically 2 bags in 1!
The total costs for the bag were under $10. If you have a bag and want to convert it into an apron, check out LoLovie’s Tut!
I hope I gave you some inspiration for your next sewing project;-)
Cheers,
