How to build a window bar

August 13, 2011 |  by  |  Blog, DIY

Hi guys!

I promised you a short DIY on how I re-purposed the window, that’s awkwardly placed between our living and dining room. → Dining Room Makover

So here you go:

I was lucky to have my friend Angela by my side to help with the planning and execution!

We used only these wooden boards (I used them here too) and some small angle brackets from the Dollarstore.

It took us about 2 hours to finish the project.

More bar & shelving love:

… great funky wall shelving….

wooden crate shelves….

skateboard shelves

magazine holder shelf….

A happy weekend!

  7. Terrific idea! We had a similar experience. The previous owners had added a room and left the window casing and trim but no window. We decided instant built in bookcase. Thanks for the post.
