Bedroom Makeover

September 13, 2011 |  by  |  Before & After, Blog, DIY, Home & Decor

Since we moved, our new place has undergone some changes! The walls have white paint (instead of turquoise!). I really love color, and in L.A. our spanish duplex hat a different color in each room, but this time, I decided to keep it white and bright, like our dining room.

Again, I had a space challenge and I really wanted my old sewing machine fit in as well. After moving the bed 4 times, moving the other furniture at least a dozen times, this is the end result:

If you like the painted antlers on my wall, you can get the How-To here. Curious, how this arm chair looked before, or what fabric I used? Find the info here.

Do you love ruffles as much as I do? Then check out, how to make your own ruffled laundry bag!

If you have a chandelier in your bedroom, you could always use it as a holder for your jewelry. I hang two of my pearl necklaces on it, but you can go wild and decorate it to the max;-)

The frame on the wall used to be a window that broke during our move. Since I had an empty wall behind the bed, I decided to attach some string on the inside of the frame  and attach random pictures from our vacations. It’s an always changing piece of art now;-)

Did you notice the vintage sewing machine? Yes, it actually made it my bedroom!

Do you have a handbag collection? I guess, that would be a stupid question! But do you jam them in some closet for nobody else to see? Bad idea! Just screw hooks to the wall and hang your lovelies!

Check out this beautiful hat wall display.

Another old window is re-purposed here. This time it didn’t brake;-)  I hot-glued some lavender on the glass and hung it above the door.

Other idea for this window:

Use colorful glass globs and glue them onto the glass. Grout after 24 hours. See example here and here.

I played a little bit with the layout, removed the fireplace, added the dress form and at the end decided to go with the little vintage style electric fireplace again.

Almost forgot: Total cost $0 – all items at hand!

Have a great day!
