What a creative and playful idea! I love it.
the tape just makes the invitation. precious!
It’s really a great idea and I would love to use it for my little girls birthday. But could you please reveal how you did it? Have you written on it while blown up? I tried it but after taken out the air the colour smudged. Is there any trick?
Greetings from Germany XXX
yes, I blew the balloon up, then wrote on it. Make sure you use a permanent marker and let it dry for a while!
This time I waited until the marker was dry (blown up) , but when I let the air out the marker got wet again and smadged
The idea is so great, which I could make it. How long does it has to dry? Overnight? Sorry for bothering you
You are not bothering! I am happy to help! You actually blow it up, write on it and then let the air out right away! I let it dry for 5 minutes. try a different marker.

This is totally awesome! I will do it for my birhday next year haha! Thanks for sharing this great idea!
Love the idea! Re-posted on my Facebook page “Press Print Party”. (no blog yet:)
What a cool idea! I’ve been feeling kind of bad for balloons lately…they just don’t get the play they used to.
What a great idea! I wonder if a stamp would work with permanent ink? Excited to try this for my son’s 6th birthday. I want a Disney Up party, and he wants Angry Birds. Either way this would be an adorable and unique invite. Thank you for the inspiration!
Also, just found out that Expo2 dry erase markers will NOT smear off the balloon!
Great Idea! Using it for my 4 year old’s casual birthday party. My only thought was that some germaphobes (I’m not one) might not want to blow up the balloon after someone else has. Ha! I won’t tell if you won’t.
You could always blow them up with a balloon pump?!
which marker did you use? i tried so many permanent markers but none of them worked. the colour dried quickly on the blown up balloon but when the air gets out it smudges immediately. i think this is a problem of the surface enlargement. i don’t get it why it works here. i really don’t understand
