Racing Stripes Armchair
About 3 years ago, I bought an old armchair on craigslist for 20 bucks. Back then I re-upholstered it with some colorful flowery patterned fabric. Now I’m thinking, it is time for a change again, so I upholstered it yet another time, this time I used bold black and white striped fabric from Ikea.
The result after a day of painful re-upholstering:
Another upholstery project I really like is Jenny’s purple headboard….awesome! I want one;-) And if i found a sofa like this for $25 I would jump up and down for days! And then the great upholstery and choice of fabric, love it!

Looks fabulous!! I’d like to do a big racing stripe on a similar chair I have–just ONE big contrast stripe down the center, of a different fabric applied. I wish I were pro at upholstery. =( Still learning! Bought a book!

I love the fabric…amazing look. You are going to hate me… I was given the couch that would match that chair exactly. I love it and want to do the reupholster on it but very scared to attempt it. I don’t want to make a mess of a wonderful couch. You did a great job, very crisp and professional looking. You should do a tutorial. I see lots of tutorials but not with this shape or type of furniture which in my opinion is unique. Just found your site and am enjoying it.
