Orange Yogurt Cake

May 21, 2013 |  by  |  Blog, Food for the Soul, Freebies

A fresh cake, that doesn’t make you feel heavy for hours and hours after you ate it. It almost looks like a cheese cake, but it’s actually yogurt. Make sure to add a lot of orange zest;-)

Orange Yogurt Cake

How to:

Mix the biscuits crumbs with melted butter, and press firmly to the base of the cake pan. Chill for a while.

Dissolve gelatin and sugar with water. Set aside to cool.

Mix yogurt, orange juice and lemon juice . Add cooled gelatin and mix well. Stir for about 1 minute.

Whip the non-diary whipping cream till it turns into a mousse/cream.

Add the yogurt mixture to the whipped cream and mix well.

Add the grated orange zest.

Pour the combined mixture onto the cake base.

Chill in the fridge for 3 hours.

While the cake is chilling, you can ‘funky’ it up a little with the pattern I designed. Simply cut baking paper into a letter size sheet, attach it with a little piece of tape to a normal white letter size paper, feed it into the printer, if possible set your printer to print slow (remove the check mark in the printer properties from ‘High Speed’).

  1. I can’t wait to try this recipe! Could you please clarify a few things?
    – Store bought orange juice or from the oranges used for the zest?
    – How much zest?
    – Does it have to be non-diary whipping cream?
    Thank you! xx
