Of course you need to have your photos first, summer and beachy will work best with those retro badges, and you need a picture editing program like Photoshop. You can download a free trial here.

And this is it. If you use Photoshop, you will also be able to change the text and font. I used ‘Oswald’ and ‘Wisdom Script’.

The file also includes my photos, if you like them and don’t want to bother, you can just print them at home on thick paper or at your local print shop (They will print you the lines on the back too).

  1. Great badges!
Thanks for the tutorial. But I’m having a problem with the download, I don’t know if I’m doing anything wrong. I have already Photoshop installed in my computer, I’ve downloaded the zip file but it can’t be un-zipped because “the file is either in unknown format or damaged”. Any ideas?

  2. Ok, false alarm! I’ve tried it again and it works just fine!
Thanks again for sharing! I’m going to use them ASAP! :-)

  3. Muchas gracias for these fabulous “postcard badges”. We’ve made a series using them and stealing your idea of blurring the images in the background. They just need to be printed out and sent now!

I hope you’ll make more of these themed badges/stamps. They are awesome (and so easy to use)! To anyone without Photoshop, we tested them out in the Gimp 2 as well and they work like a charm in there too. No excuses not to be using them…

  4. I’m not that much of a internet reader to be honest
but your blogs really nice, keep it up! I’ll go ahead and bookmark your site to come back down the road. All the best
