DIY At-Home Art Gallery

Hey ho! It was quite silent here for a while, because so many things happened (which you know if you follow me on Instagram!), but now it slowed down a little and there is time again to get your creative juices flowing!

You all know by now, that I have that thing for color, I like it bright! That’s why I decided to not only hang my recent photos I’ve shot, but also combine them with a huge yellow cross on my living room wall. I loved how the yellow, black and white seem to just perfectly fit together.

//Step One//

First we need to paint the cross. This was not as easy as it seemed! You have to align the floor, the ceiling and the cross, and if you know about Berlin apartments, you know what I mean! Nothing is really straight. Well, I somehow managed to make it happen.

//Step Two//

Choose some of the photographs you would like to get printed. Use similar frames or matting, or display all color or all black & white. In my case black & white photos seemed to be the perfect fit.

The size here is 60x120cm /24×47 inch and I printed them at myposter.

//Step Three//

Hanging your art. Self-explanatory;-)

MyPoster is giving away 10 coupons, all you need to do is tell me in the comments, what yould you print, if you win one!

Good luck!

  1. i would probably get one of our two cats and one of the three sandhill cranes (mom, dad and baby) that come eat at our bird feeders every day

  2. Sehr schöne, bunte Idee mit dem Kreuz! :)

  3. I would print à landscape, mountains maybe, and put an old and nice window frame on it, so i can escape whenever i want when it’s dull outside ! :D

  4. i have some great shots of palm trees id like to print!

  5. Gorgeous apartment! I am planning for a long time now to decorate my walls as well. I think I would print a lot of smaller photos of my friends, family and Istanbul (I studied there for one semester and yet it was the best time of my life) and frame them. The empty space above my bed seems to be the perfect location! :)

  6. Hi Sibylle,

  7. I’d print a large-format poster of a sunset at the beach in the Philippines—maybe El Nido or Boracay, which are some of the most beautiful beaches in my home country. I’d hang it in the bedroom and look at it every time I feel homesick and need a little sunshine!

  8. Love this space! Such a cool way to add some boldness to your wall in a functional way.

LG Christina
