A little Christmas Happiness with Chocolate Dream and Almond Kiss by Frau Heuberg

A little Christmas Happiness with Chocolate Dream and Almond Kiss by Frau Heuberg

December 6, 2011 |  by  |  Blog, Christmas, Food for the Soul, Guest Blogger, Holidays

Hello readers of Fun.kyti.me! While Sibylle will move into a new adventure in her life, she have asked me to write a guestpost here at her wonderful outlet of DIY and Food. Thanks a lot for your faith in my writing although I´m not a native speaker of the English language. Thanks, my dear…so i will jump in…

Hello, I´m Ines, mommy, arts and craft lover and blogger of frauheuberg, a collective of two sisters who decided to live their dream „to be creative and make the life of others a little bit brighter with our handmade treasures.“

Do you know this moment when the holiday season has just arrived in your mind and „some days“ later Santa Claus is already near at hand? Oh, yes and you wish you have more time for creating some special presents for your love ones. But hej keep calm there will be always „food“. We are what we eat, right? Eating makes happy, give us a smile and seduce our senses. So how it would be with a recipe packed with „chocolate dream“ and „almond kiss“? Ready to try? Yes, then i will promise you that you will only have the problem before Christmas to save these sweet delights from the little cookie monster inside you…so be careful…;)…

FOR THE BASE

250 g wheat flour
60 g sugar
125 g unsalted cold butter
1 egg
pinch of salt

FOR THE TOPPING

100 g almond paste
200 g ground almonds
200 g almond slivers
150 g unsalted butter
100 g Crème fraiche
200 g sugar
2 packs of vanille sugar
200 g dark chocolate melted

First cream the flour, sugar, butter, egg and salt with an electric hand-held mixer. Then knead the dough with your hands until it is smooth and put it for at least 1 hour into your fridge. Roll the dough out to about ½ cm on a baking tray (in form of a rectangle).

For the topping crush the marzipan into tiny pieces and mix it together with the ground almonds and the almond slivers. Preheat the oven to 180°C, convection oven 160°C, gas 3.
Simmer the butter, Crème fraiche, sugar, vanille sugar gently, stir continually until the sugar dissolves and bring it to the boil for 1-2 minutes. Take it away from the stove, put it together with the almond paste-almond mixture and spread it on to the dough.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until the almond mixture become golden-yellow. Take it out from the oven, let it cool down. Then cut into tiny triangles.

Melt the dark chocolate slowly in hot water and stir. I use icing in the package for the chocolate topping. After that put the nut triangels with the top into the melted chocolate and cool on a wire tray…That´s it! Ready to the sweet seduction!…

You could fill little packages with these sweet delights, stamp a unique little message and give it your special „outfit“…a wonderful present from the heart and everybody will love you for it…promised…For now we wish you all a wonderful holiday time and the best for 2012. Have fun to try out and let your hearts fly! The magic is in all of us…hugs…
